Korean Star Jeon Somi Are Being Compared to Nancy of Momoland in Terms of Beauty

From their food to their clothing, accessories, and their films and series, Koreans indeed captured the hearts of many Filipino people. No wonder that Korean stars have a lot of followers and supporters here in the Philippines. This kind of phenomenon was known to many as “Hallyu” or the “Korean wave.” True enough that the Korean pop culture has now increased its global popularity in music, drama, food and even cosmetics.

The Korean government even put its financial support to “export K-wave overseas,” an official at Korea’s cultural ministry explained that “professionals in the K-pop industry” remain at the forefront of Hallyu. It was also in the first two months of 2019 when girl groups Momoland and Blackpink held respective shows here in the Philippines that delighted a lot of their fans and supporters. Korean actor Park Hyung-sik also met Filipino fans just last month after being picked to model for a local clothing brand.

K-pop acts set to visit the country in the coming months include The Boyz, Stray Kids, Dreamcatcher, GFriend, Park Ji-hoon, and Bae Jin-young. Drama actors So Ji-sub and Park Bo-gum are also set to meet their fans and supporters here.






Recently, another Korean star captured the hearts of many Filipino. Her name is Jeon Somi or Ennik Somi Douma in real life. She is an 18-year-old Korean-Canadian singer based that is based in South Korea and was born in Ontario, Canada. She was one year old when her family moved to Korea and because of her mixed descent, she was bullied on her childhood days. She is a taekwondo third-degree black belt holder.

She was also best known for finishing first in Mnet's survival reality program Produce 101 and debuting in former South Korean girl group I.O.I. She made her debut as a soloist on June 13, 2019, with single "Birthday". It was on February 25, 2019, The Black Label announced that she is preparing to make her debut as a solo artist with a lead single produced by Teddy. She had also made her first music show appearance as a solo artist on MBC's Show! Music Core on June 15, performing both "Birthday" and "Outta My Head".
