Darna is a fictional Filipino comics superhero created by writer Mars Ravelo and artist Nestor Redondo. The character's first appearance was in Pilipino Komiks on May 13, 1950. Darna is a retooling of Ravelo's earlier character, Varga, whose stories he wrote and illustrated himself. The popular character had also been portrayed by some of the most talented and amazing actresses of their generation like Rosa del Rosario, Liza Moreno, Eva Montes, Gina Pareño, Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Rio Locsin, Sharon Cuneta, Nanette Medved, Anjanette Abayari, Regine Velasquez, Angel Locsin, and Marian Rivera.
It is now official that Jane de Leon will be the newest face of the Pinay superheroine “Darna”. She is a Star Magic artist and the former “Halik” star who portrayed as Maggie, the younger sister of Lino Bartolome, Jerico Rosales’ character. She used to be a member of the girl group “Girltrends” of the noontime show of ABS-CBN “It’s Showtime” and she had also appeared in “La Luna Sangre.” The public was surprised and delighted about the good news and it actually garnered a lot of comments and reactions on different social media platforms. It was Olivia Lamasan, the managing director of ABS-CBN Films, who made an announcement on Wednesday, July 17 about the next lucky actress who will be portrayed as the new Darna.
Roger Díaz-Pandaan or simple Ogie Diaz is a 49-year-old television presenter, radio personality, talent manager, and comedian. He is popularly known as "Pekto", the name of his character in the long-running former television show Palibhasa Lalake. He was also known as an assistant in many series. It was in 2016 when he became viral because he was pranked by Vice Ganda through a call in MOR 101.9 saying that his number was found the backside of the restroom's door.
